Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

1. Do you pay for articles?
Currently, TravelMyIndia primarily operates on a volunteer contributor model, offering exposure and a platform for your writing. However, we are actively working towards compensated opportunities in the future.

2. What happens after I submit my pitch?
Our editorial team will review your pitch and get back to you within 1-2 weeks. If approved, we’ll discuss the next steps, including content guidelines and deadlines for your draft.

3. Can I include links to my personal blog or social media profiles?
Yes! All published articles will include a short author bio with links to your personal blog and/or relevant social media profiles (LinkedIn, Instagram, personal travel blog, etc.) to help you grow your personal brand.

4. Do I need to be a professional writer or expert?
While professional writing experience is a plus, it’s not strictly required. We value authenticity, passion for India, unique insights, and the ability to write clearly and engagingly. Your personal experience and expertise in a specific area (e.g., trekking, regional food) are highly valued.

5. Can I submit content that has already been published elsewhere?
No, we only accept original content that has not been published previously and will not be published elsewhere after appearing on TravelMyIndia. We require exclusive rights to the content submitted.

6. What if my pitch is rejected?
Don’t be discouraged! It might simply mean the topic isn’t a current fit for our content calendar or our editorial direction. We encourage you to review our existing content and try pitching a different idea.

7. What kind of photos do you need?
We prefer high-resolution, horizontal photos that you have taken yourself. They should be relevant to the article’s content and visually appealing. Please ensure you have the rights to use and share any images you provide.

8. How long does the review and publication process take?
The review process for pitches typically takes 1-2 weeks. Once a draft is submitted, the editing and review process can take 2-4 weeks, depending on the complexity and our editorial queue. We will keep you updated throughout the process.

9. Can I write about any part of India?
Yes, our focus is entirely on India. We welcome articles covering any state, city, region, or specific aspect of Indian tourism, culture, food, or adventure.
